Cosplay Diary 010 - Makeup testing

Didn’t paint everything for the makeup testing.  I didn’t want to waste it.  Nor did I tuck my hair up properly.

I’m going easier on the eye makeup for Tav.  Most was leftover from Eridan.  And I’m not using that lip colour.  It wound up being WAY too red.  I was not impressed at all considering it was dark brown in the tube and on my hand.  Ah well.  I have brown ben nye lip colour.

Just need to do some ear touch ups and I should be good for Eri though.

The final seal is going to save my ass.  HEAVY powdering was needed.  It’s so hot.  omg.

Oh man, these horns are all finished.  The Eridan ones not so perfect but great in colour.  If I feel like trying to mix paint again I’ll thin down the bottoms more.

Cosplay Diary 007 - Wig Styling Episode 2

In my many adventures in wig styling I can honestly say these have been the most fun.  Trying to get a mohawk/fauxhawk from a slickback wig.  It was interesting.

It was actually an Ao no Exorcist wig before.  With the blonde strip down the middle.  I sharpie dyed it the hard way - colouring each strand meticulously.  It seems to have stained pretty well.

Then I trimmed down the sides and hairsprayed it up.  I still need to tweak a bit but I love the look

And let’s not forget my good ol Gamzee wig which was never really ‘styled’ at all.  I just messed it up a bit.

I actually went through the trouble this time!  YAY!

Round brush and hairpspray yet again.  Worked like a charm.

Also can’t forget the handscrunching in it.  Bedhead look achieved.

Cosplay Diary 003 - Props Part 1

In a long list of props I still have to make I have started and almost completed two.

The list is as follows:

• Tavros’ lance
• Gamzee’s clubs
• Tinkerbull
• Host Plush
• Eridan’s wand

I have already finished the host plush with a great deal of difficulty using that pattern I reblogged a few days ago.  The attachment between the colours was a huge pain.

I might remake the host plush because I didn’t use the recommended fabric and paid dearly for it.  I used flanelette which I don’t recommend.  The pieces are too small and they frayed.  Besides that, he didn’t stuff evenly.

I’ll make a new one using fleece.

I’m now about 2/3 finished making Tinkerbull and this has been much easier so far.  The hardest part was putting the horns on.  Stitching was fine but placement was difficult to get completely even.

Just need to do the legs now and the wings and the nose ring.  Also eyes.

I hate hand stitching but ah well lol.
